Ravenwood Co began as a simple idea. A clothing brand that felt warm and atmospheric with a slightly darker edge. The founder wanted something that felt personal and sensory friendly with a clear identity that could grow into a story driven e-commerce experience.
This project covered the full brand creation including moodboard development and a complete Shopify website designed with clarity, comfort and conversion in mind.
Ravenwood Co is a cosy goth clothing brand with a focus on softness, sensory comfort and atmosphere. The products are designed for people who want clothing that feels good on the skin with a visual style that feels expressive without being overwhelming.
The brand takes inspiration from woodland textures, warm lighting and a calm but moody aesthetic. It is designed to feel safe, comforting and grounded.
Ravenwood Co needed a complete identity. There was no existing visual direction, no colour system and no framework for how the brand should feel. The Shopify store also needed to carry the same mood and still guide customers towards confident buying decisions.
The aim was to create a brand with personality while keeping the user experience clean and reassuring. The founder also wanted the store to support sensory needs so it was important to keep colours, spacing and text choices gentle and readable.
We looked at the emotional core of the brand and the feeling the founder wanted customers to have. Warmth, softness and atmosphere were placed at the centre. From this we created a clear direction that guided the entire build.
I created a detailed moodboard covering colours, textures, lighting and typography direction. The moodboard set the tone for everything that followed. It helped define the world of Ravenwood Co and ensured the brand remained consistent across every touchpoint.
Using the moodboard, I developed the full identity for Ravenwood Co. This included a refined colour palette, typography, logo direction and a visual language that reflected the cosy goth tone. The identity needed to feel calm and welcoming but still expressive.
Before building the site, I mapped the customer journey to understand where clarity and reassurance were needed. The strategy focused on simple navigation, strong product presentation, sensory considerations and clear access to key information. Every design choice was made to make the shopping experience feel comfortable and trustworthy.
The Shopify site was designed around the brand identity. I created a layout that felt immersive and atmospheric. The structure is clean and spacious with gentle typography and calm colours that help customers feel settled from the moment they arrive. Product pages were written with sensory comfort in mind with a focus on helping customers feel safe and informed.
Ravenwood Co now has a complete brand identity and a fully functioning Shopify site that captures the atmosphere the founder had in mind. The site feels cohesive from the first impression to the final checkout step. The visual world is warm and moody and the buying experience is clear and supportive.
Since the build, Ravenwood Co has established a recognisable identity that reflects the founder’s vision. The Shopify store provides a smoother experience for customers with easy navigation and calm visual cues. The product pages give customers the information they need without overwhelming them.
